I am busy to calculate a frame in Simulation via the Frame simulation option. The frame will be lifted by means of forerunners that are not more than a fancy name for cables.
At this moment they are rods that are placed over a 3D-sketch. How do I tell simulation that these rods are actual cables? So only pull but no push.
I think I need to change something in the material table but don't know it for sure and don't even know what I have to change or add. I have added the 'Moment of Inertia' and close to zero, but that seems to be no succes.
Could any of you help me?
I believe SE Simulation isn't capable to solve this, you need to go to Femap.

If I follow what you're trying to do, you don't need to model the cables to solve this problem. Can you reply with a screen shot and I'll mark up how I would constrain it?

In this model, above is fixed. Slings are released where the hollow sections begin. The slings are constrained with a user-defined tool.
A few questions:
as I have stated in a private message I was not able to reply to you sooner.
The frame is a some kind of container frame according the calculations of DNV.
The load on the bottom of the frame results from a equation by DNV that we have changed into a torque on the main plate and resulting forces on the hollow sections.
The cable are hold by very simplified shackles.
