Solid Edge 10 how to change color from ASM and Part

Hello Edgers,

have tested a bit Solid Edge ST10.

Have import Step, sat, or JT Files.

Have also seen all colours are gone if I try to import STEP Files. Before a STEP File hafter import has the most colours like the original STEP file.

Now I have a question, how we can change colour of parts, asm, or shapes.

Before it was easy possible. Now the field (button) is grey.

Have seen the colours only at the sidebar, but this is I think for templates not for simple parts.

Thank you very much for your help.

Wolfgang

Re: Solid Edge 10 how to change color from ASM and Part

Hello @Wolfgang_1

I am still on ST10 Beta and but pretty sure this has not changed in the final release, since this is a basic functionality,

I painted some random faces on the sample Anchor.par from ST8, exported to STEP and imported in ST10 which shows the faces in correct colors:

You can do this using the Part Painter tool on the View tab, Styles group available in ST10 as well:

About the availability of the color in the side bar. This is a custom setting and you can change it from the Solid Edge Options dialog:
