Back in AutoCAD R14 there was a command to create a 3d model by using three 2D views. is there a command in SE that does that?
@ngardner In Draft on the Tools tab of the Ribbon is a command called Create 3D (as @bshand mentioned). It allows you to select the 2D views in an order and then it places those 2D views in a Part (or other 3D file) aligned on their respective sketch planes (Top, Front, Right). You can then use the 3D commands to start creating 3D features using the various regions/sketches that represent the part.
If i am doing this right, this command only creates the sketches within the par file. it does not seem to create a solid model like AutoCAD did. What am i missing?
@ngardner You are doing it right. Create 3D does not actually create the 3D... It just maps the views to sketches and then you have to create the 3D from the sketches.
ohhhh... thats kinda unless than. I can do the same thing with cut and copy. But thank you.
