Lots of reasons this is happening. First thing comes to mind is memory or a lack of... What are you running for OS (include bit version), physical memory and bit version of SE?
SE typically exports a Crashlogf.txt file located in C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Temp. Contact your VAR or GTAC directly if able and provide them the file and the steps you are doing that results in a crash and they can typically pinpoint the issue.
