Re: Solid Edge & Cloud

Imics,

While I would NOT recommend to go CAD in the cloud for anything we do.

I can see there is a place for this...especially for potential new users & more so, the academic arena. So all of a sudden Solid Edge can be "virtually" run on all platforms and almost any system spec. A huge boon for the student fraternity, if it makes it to that segment.

So while it's not for me.....I do support it's existence.

Sean,

That is very close to how I feel about CAD in the cloud. I am looking forward to hearing what Dan Staples has to say about this.

Re: Solid Edge & Cloud

Hi,

Thanks guys for your thoughts, I really want to see this from technical/IT side.
I had asked a "trial period" some weeks ago, but... Smiley Sad
It can be useful in some cases, but later about this

Re: Solid Edge & Cloud

Hi,

Staples reiterated a view and a growing opinion in the industry that customers aren’t yet asking for this yet, and said: “It should always be the vendors giving the customers what they want, not dictating what they should have.

Re: Solid Edge & Cloud

Hi,

I'd like to see this sentence everywhere what is connected to Solid Edge:

It should always be the vendors giving the customers what they want, not dictating what they should have.

About Solid Edge STreaming:

This is very new for all and I never say that NO! This solution can be better for us, because no need to restudy the software and we can use it on a "basic" laptop with good internet speed.

This is an opportunity...

I think we need a very strong desktop version of Solid Edge. Looking forward to seeing ST8!
