Solid Edge St9 Student Crashes with strange warning

Experimenter
Experimenter

Hi there!

I use Solid Edge St9 Student on my Windows 10 64bits.

Well, just a few days ago, a major issue appeared:

When I try to open a project or try to start a new project (doesn't matter if it is a draft, part or assembly)

SE freezes and this weird warning pops up (look at the picture).

This is a rought translation of what it says:

####Server is fully occupied (overloaded)

This process can't be executed, because the other application is active.

Klick on "switch to" to switch over to the other application and to solve the issue.####

Well, I don't know which other application it could mean, as there is  nothing else running at that time.

Also, I don't understand which server is meant by that title.

This is quite devastating for me right now, as I am working on a project for my university.

I tried to reinstall SE ST9, delete alle recent updates and other programms which could have affected it's performance. Still, nothing changes....

Also tried to find out, if my graphics are the issue, but doesn't seem to be problem.

Really, any help is more than welcome!

Thanks for your attention.

Appreciate and suggestions and help.

Hi there @Blackamurai157,

Plenty of users have seen this message over the years, and not limited to the Academic version....it usually indicates exactly [worded based to suit larger company infrastructure] what it says, but in reality, it is more likely the file is still locked by user access, within Windows.

I believe a system reboot [if indeed it is your system that has that access hang] was the simplest cure for this.

I see.

Thank you Sean!

I will check out if it can be solved on a other way before rebooting.

However, you might be right that it will be fasted way to solve the issue.

Will update when I tried a few things.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!

Apparently the issue came as follows:

I installed the new version of OBS a few days ago.

With it a strange update package for Windows c++ was added.

My laptop was confused and didn't recognise the issue.

After finding it, I instandly deleted it.

Another reason could be another program which was added by the OBS update.

Can'T remember the name but it was a program to save data.

Deleted that one as well.

Aferwards, restartet the laptop and miraculously the asm. i tried to open popped up as usual.

Thanks for the advice and help from you all!
