Re: Solid Edge cleaner?

I got similar issue sometimes:

No registry entries found for SE under:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Unigraphics Solutions\Solid Edge

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Unigraphics Solutions\Solid Edge

But exits for 32bit partition of SE:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Unigraphics Solutions\Solid Edge\Version 108

And also all DLL were  on:

C:\Program Files\Solid Edge ST8

So what I did:

SECleanup utility:

...\Solid Edge\SptTools\SECleanup\SECleanupAll.exe

To be sure that MSI is also “cleanup”

...\Solid_Edge\V108\Solid Edge\SptTools\MSI Cleanup Utility\msicuu2.exe

After that just run uninstall SE from:

Right mouse click on :

...\Solid Edge\Solid Edge ST8.msi

And hit “Uninstall”

Ensure that all registry entries are gone and also installation folder on C:\Program Files\Solid Edge ST8

Afterwards just started SE installation with GUI to see if any errors appears

Hi to all,

don't forget to look into the WOW6432Node in the registry

There also are entries from Solid Edge

@uk_dave,

Do you know if these instructions from you:

At the command prompt, type msiexec /unregister , and then press ENTER.
At the command prompt, type msiexec /regserver, and then press ENTER.

are what this does:

    ..\Solid_Edge\V108\Solid Edge\SptTools\MSI Cleanup Utility\msicuu2.exe

Bruce, besides the above suggestions I've had some luck with running CCleaner (free version) to clean up messed/failed installs.

Good luck /Ulf

I had the same issue and it was Windows related more than a Solid Edge issue. MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_Uninstall.meta.diagcab fixed 3 PC's for me. It may take a while for the program to finish but my succes rate was 100%. I hope you haven't already rebuilt your entire PC.

OK. Now I'll try that because, though it looked promising at first, CCleaner didn't work.

@vongahlen, You, sir, are THE MAN and fully deserve the GENIUS accolade in my book.

Needless to say - worked like a charm. You made my day. Thanks.

Edit: GTAC needs to add that to its toolbox.

Hi @bshand

I'm happy with You that finally You got a solution to make it run again.

The more interest question might be:

"What was the reason to destroy the registry in such a way?"
