I use "Systems Parts 4" for years now to insert nuts & bolts.
I tried again to install standard part library, but can't do it...
I don't understand what's wrong, nor what I have to do.
After installing the administration from DVD1 and the parts from DVD2 I try to enter the configuration wizard but receive:
Have you tried to fill in a UNC path for the top level folder? Something like:
\\PCname\Solid Edge Standard Parts
Thanks, but this is not the solution:
Try again and make sure ALL paths are in UNC notation (click the Defaults button).
I changed it all but the same error...
Have you defined the working database? Have you read the Standard Parts Installation Guide? It is a file called StandardPartsInstallationGuide.pdf and it is located at C:\Program Files\Solid Edge ST6\Program\ResDLLs\0009.
Are there multiple users using Standard Parts or are you a one-man band? If there are multiple users then UNC paths must be used in the configuration wizard. Otherwise their SE installations will think the Standard Parts database is in their C-drives...
Can someone please explain me why it is such a PITA to install a program???
I use for years Systems Parts from Stream Design, the installation is: "Install"
When you want to use it over a network you just point to the place and that's it.
Now for SE:
Dig in the catacombs of the program folder and search for pdf file.
Yes I found this file, no it doesn't help
Both programs are from the same company. TALK TO EACH OTHER to streamline this.
It can't be possible this leaves the house with a stamp "approved".
The installation of SP should be a check box in the SE installation.
I am just trying to install on my PC for me only. One step at a time...
