Hello everyone,

i was wondering whether we can do layer in surface solid edge or not?

something like we can do for sketch that we can layer it.

 

this question was submited by rubber mold manufacturer.

 

Any advise might help on this matter

If the aim of using layers is to show/hide objects, which layers are primarily meant to be, like for surfaces in your case, you can pick multiple surface objects in the PathFinder and group them.

 

Further the display of groups can be turned on or off using the check box besides them in the PathFinder. This comes close enough to using layers.

By "layer" do you mean an offset surface or some kind of skin over the top of an item? If so then Solid Edge can create offset surfaces easily and would be a good starting point.
