Generate in office or google and copy/paste in prefix Man Very HappyMan Tongue

Edit: There is a Symbold and Values (Top left in prefix aera) option, but alpha is not in it but if you want some other standard symbols take a look at it.

Hi @KurtCouffez

no need to go to Office or Google, just do it in SE itself.

If You start to create a text box You will find the Symbol button in the Smart Ribbon Bar (right)

This will give You the abillity to find every character/sign/symbol available.

Copy it and paste it into the Dimension Prefix field

Hi @KurtCouffez

as shown in the previous post, the UNicode number for the Alpha sign would be "U+03B1"

I thought it should be easy to enter this code similar to an ascii code using ALT+number but this doesn't work here.

Even if You compute the decimal number of 03B1 which is 0945, but this bring a different result.

Hi @KurtCouffez

just found a real astonishing behaviour in SE

Using ALT#945 creates a wonderful alpha sign in a callout text, but a strange character in a dimension prefix field

The same strnage character as when typing it here in the post form:

now ALT+945 is shown as

But at least within Solid Edge I had expected it to be the same everywhere.

And Yes the font is the same for both!

regards
Wolfgang

if I do that I will get another symbol. Even if I choose the correct font under "view - styles - dimension", I continue get other symbols. For example, under the "symbol" font, the key combination ALT97 is the letter alpha, but this does not work

This is also the way I try, but this does not seem to work out :-(

Hi @nominus38

sounds great but doesn't work.

Using Alt+224 in Solid Edge creates a strange character "Ó"

Same is true here in the posting window

Wolfgang
