We have this sheet metal piece which has served as a template for years. Now for some reason it won't change via dimensions or steering wheel.
Anybody care to take a stab at figuring it out before I send it to GTAC?
Solved! Go to Solution.
That sort of works. But not very well. Why should we have to turn off design intent? Then we lose coplanar and symmetric. It used to work.
the better question might be:
"What prevents it from doing it with Design Intent ON?"
There must be a conflict but I cann't see it even with "Solution Manager"
Synch SM sometimes works in a odd manner, sometimes restart Solid Edge helps to fix this kind of problems.
Other than this I have seen Synch SM missbehave so in my opinion GTAC could benefit to investigate on such files.
Thought of rebooting but it's not unique to my workstation. I think it's probably related to the closed corners on the contour flange. Always something with synchronous.
Yes, so the user who copies this part can change its size to his needs. Not sure how this matters to the question.
I'm new but as I understand it a red (Locked dim) means it will be held during a sync change. So when I go to add 10" to the right side length it via a sync move it errors.
If I relax the locked dim and then the symetric error it works.
But these dims are on different axes and therefore shouldn't interfere with each other locked or not. Anyway, if I delete the contour flange things work as expected. The question remains: why?
