Is it possible in SE to transfer a pattern feature in one assembly to another as you would move parts around for organization? I know you can drop it and just treat the patterned instances as parts, but it's something I always wondered if there was a work-around. It's quite common in large assemblies to have to restructure sub-assemblies and either you have to have the foresight or have to re-create patterns once things are moved. Thanks.
An assy pattern lives in context of the assy where it was created...
You can create Your pattern sketch in an extra assembly - let me call it the "Pattern.asm", where You also can have several pattern sketches.
Place this ASM into Your assemblies and use those pattern sketches for patterning the parts as wanted.
The same pattern.asm can be placed in any assembly You will need it.
Any change in that ASM will be reflected whereever it was used.
forgot to mention that with ST9 there are more possibilities to "pattern" parts in an assembly.
You also can use the "Duplicate" function with reference parts and with block sketches in different parts.
Everywhere YOu have the same block in a sketch a duplicate part will be placed.
