Is there a quicker way in large assemblies to hide all reference planes and origins/coord. systems without going through each instance/part/assembly and turning them off one by one? Show/hide doesn't turn them off when they are on in lower level sub-assemblies/part files. Sometimes I need to take screenshots to review with a customer and they are confusing to non CAD types. Thanks!
The best method I have found is to
click the top assembly in the tree
right click and select expand all
then select everything, (Click the top hold shift click the bottom) not good for a large assembly!.
then right click on the tree and select show/hide component.
there is then a tick box for coordinate systems, add a tick to off
it will then hide them all.
Unless somebody else has a better method, Then I'm also learning....
If you right-click on the screen, then select "show/hide all component...." it will take you to a dialogue box with check marks for coordinate systems and reference planes among other items.
That should work.
If you have to do it a lot (like me) there is also a possibility to add them to your ribbon. Then you can just click on the button and everything hides (See added pic).. I even placed a shortcut to it and then you can just press a button and it's gone.
There are also options to show plane / sketch (not coordinate system) that shows the plane / sketch of selected target.
What I do is the following procedure.
1, Expand the tree, everything
2, Highlight the bottom part in the list, shift and highlight the top item in list
3. right click one of the parts and show/hide
4. hit the checkmarks to remove planes, coordinates, and skitches.
Then you have a clean view of the model.
but I think this a very complex way to achieve the wanted result.
A simply RMB somewhere in free space using the Show/Hide menu will bring You to the same goal but easier and faster.
Nice, I learned a faster way of doing it. I had no idea there is an implies "everything selected" when you right click the background.
