Hi there @Hclee,

How will you be using this?.....ie; are you actually getting it laser etched??.....is it a PAR model, of a Sheet Metal item??? [in which case, use the "Switch To - Sheet Metal" command]

The etch command in Sheet Metal, is extracted from a planar sketch designed to survive flat patterning out, for use by CNC etching capable machinery......I would think, if it was an equivelant in the part environment you required, then it would be just as it was before etch came along....by placing/projecting a sketch onto the model.

I do not want to switch to the sheet metal.
Etch just want to use only the features in the part.

Hi,

If you don't want to switch to SM environment, then I suggest using derived curve...
