I am taking evening classes on SE 2D student edition, I have the SE 2D (ST4) free at home we were told that we could open drawing created on SE 2D free done at home but once we opened them in class we would not be able to open them at home any longer do to the restrictions on the student edition. I read on-line that it occurs when you try to open a SE drawing in the commercial version?
I am confused as to what you call SE 2D Student Edition. I assume you are talking about Solid Edge Academic Edition (student). This is not limited to Drafting.
If the above is the case, then what you are saying is true. Any file (draft, part, sheet metal, assembly, etc.) saved in the academic version cannot be opened in non-academic licensed Solid Edge. This includes the free 2D Drafting.
