I haven't understand You question.

Maybe a picture?

Thanks

I think what he is looking for is a total length of weld if you model welds inside a weldment.

I have not dug into welds enough to know but I don't think it's already set up automatically.

You could however set that up manually if you manually modeled each weld and assigns the length to a variable.

I tried out welds once and gave up, took too much time.

Hi @ngardner and @12GAGE

now I better can understand what You are looking for.

AFAIK at the moment there is no method to get the length of the weld in a weldment part BUT - and this IMHO is nearly an equivilent soultion - You can get the weight of the welds!

And from this value You can either celculate the length (for the same cross section) or directly a cost value what - I think so - is the wanted info from there.

To do this You can use the functionallity to model welds in a single part and not longer in an assembly

This came with ST8

Hello all,

we also had this problem.

An easy eay is to use the frame environment in the Assembly there you get the "cut length" automatically.

Also you can provide every weldbead profile you need as an "Profile" in an part.

Hope this helps you.

Greetings Christian

Good morning All,

Thanks for the comments. I do like the weld density idea but i don't think that would work when using a weld label. maybe it would i will have to look into that.

Hi,

Unfortunately there is no direct way for this. Solid Edge doesn't provide weld table (sw, ai).

But you can use "Measure" command and save it as a variable.
