anyone still using a Spaceball 5000?

Just wondering if anyone is still using the SB5000 or if you gave up on the legacy device and moved to the pro or enterprise version.  I have become too dependant on the button functions but the legacy driver and SE addin are behaving erratic at times. If anyone is using the old SB5000 do you have a config that is working well?  using the 3D Connexion control panel or using the SE addin?  They seem to clobber each other from time to time.  Had mine working well for ~6 months using the 3DC control panel and last Monday the settings were changed and I couldn't figure out what happened.

I was affraid of that.  Any one switch from the old SB to the new space mouse enterprise or pro?  It looks like the enterprise version goes for ~$260, is it worth the ~$60 more than the pro? Is it worth the $160 more than the navigator?

Yes, I had to throw it away the other year when the drivers stopped working and there were no new compatible drivers posted. A pity for a still fully working piece of hardware.

So I went for the SpaceMouse wireless and getting rid of the cable is a relief.

At the office I use a SpacePilot Pro. Good device, but I don't use the screen.

I would suggest the SpaceMouse Pro now. I don't care about the cable, my desk is fixed so once you manage your workspace the cable doesn't bother me anymore.

I must admit that the main annoyance with the cable is when travelling.

The old SpaceMouse broke at the cable inlet and the same happened to a colleague.

Thanks all.  Sounds like I need to just get updated.  I don't travel enough to take the 3D mouse with, I'll see if I can get an enterprise, 31 programmable buttons! Smiley Happy
