command user interface bar using vertical docking window on second sceen will not stay docked.

My Command User Interface window undocks itself when I switch between commands or environments. I used the Solid Edge Options Helpers to toggle over to use docking window form and have docked to my Pathfinder on a second sceen. But, it is very unstable. I never had this issue with any previous version.

Jake,

Window docking is recorded for each environment, and SE has a lot of environments. You need to dock the bars where you want them (or un-dock them) in each environment. When you switch from part to sketch and back to part all the windows should be docked the same in the part environment. They could be in different locations while in sketch. If you are experiencing problems with windows moving around within the part environment, then that is a problem that should be reported to your support person, VAR, or GTAC.

Hope This Helps,
Jason

Thanks for the response, Jason. I have used this functionality with ST4 without a problem. After initial set-up all worked well, now that my company just upgraded to ST6 the windows just pop out with every environment change. It looks like I will be writing an IR on this.

I'm on ST7 and also had these issues.
In drafting environment, I like to have the Command Bar stay docked to the right of my Pathfinder.
But in Parts/Assemblies, I like to have it Autohide to the right of Pathfinder.
Try toggling with the Autohide button and switching back and forth between different file types and now it seems to work.

Hi @Srypstra

have to created a user specific theme for Your settings?

This is the first I would like to suggest.

And then go to a draft lock Your side bar and save this theme

Change to a part and unlock it now, and save again Your theme.

Then close Solid Edge, take a look into the %appdata% directory and Unigraphics (Yes it still is named Unigraphics, even after 10 years of Siemens)  - Solid Edge - Versions 1xx and Customization.

See wether there is a folder with Your user theme name and what is there

If there are files with a time stamp approx. from "now" then it should be saved and should be in use the next time You start SE.

Wolfgang

Yes I've made a custom theme.
I tried your suggestions. Yes the AppData did update timestamp, but the docking (in draft) vs. floating (in assy and part) Select commandbar is not working.
I've also tried opposite order: undock in the part and save theme; then dock in draft, but it appears that whatever the part theme is, that stays in the draft theme.
Looks like I can save the Auto-hide vs. not Auto-hiding tho, so that may just have to work for now.
