I use this same procedure, from time to time also....but have not encountered this broken links to the views, after performing edit links. Sometimes, if I have manipulated the view frame, the new part is out of sight, until frame is dragged to show the part....but I don't think that is your issue.

Rebooting did not do anything.

How do I upload multiple files?

Here is a zipped file with the original Draft, the original assembly, and the new assembly that is trying to use.

Let me know if you see anything weird.

@Greybarn, Foiled by differing SE versions. We're still on ST9. Maybe someone on ST10 will give it a go.

@Greybarn I am seeing the same thing as you are with the dashed lines when I rename the drawing and change link to the other assembly. I don't have time at the moment to look closer at it, but I may be able to look into it later today or tomrrow.
