Hi there,

If you right click on an entry, you get an option to add new material, then fill out all the relevant spec you want for that.....else, just select copy & paste it to the folder you want, then rename it accordingly.

FYI: fast way to get to Material Table...."double click" the Material listing in the Pathfinder. [if you don't already have the "Prompt for material...." checked in SE-Options]

I do hope developement update the material table dialogue, to be able to reorder the material listings, on the fly.....without the need to modify it externally in Excel.

Re: how do you add a material in st8?

1.Open the material table in Solid Edge

2.Right click on the category you wish to add the new material to

3.Name the material and assign its properties

4.Click Save at the bottom

However, if you want to do lots of modifications or a large cleanout...

1. Right click the name of your material table at the top of the tree

2. Click Save as

3. Save as an .xls or .xlsx file

4. Edit in excel per the instructions

5. Right click the name of your material table

6. Click import and select the file
