insert flat pattern in assembly

is it possible to insert into an assembly the flat pattern of a sheet metal file? 99% of time only need formed view.  I can create a new part file and insert part copy and flatten as part of the part copy command. Can also create a Family of Parts with 2 different files where i unbend the part. However, I am interested if there something more direct and simple I am missing?

Hi,

 

Yes, absolutely. The key is adjustable part, in this case you store two states in same part.

 

FOP would be nice if we could store different states in same part without populating members. Unfortunately SE doesn't support this workflow...

@Imics  Wow! Never considered the use of a suppression variable in an adjustable part.
