When you want to convert from part to sheet metal, it works well in the outward direction of the body,
An exclamation point appears inside. And not.
I am making a lot of sheet metal in the inside direction.
What is the reason for this?
(When the picture above selects the body inside ..)
(This picture is for selecting the exterior of the body.)
If there is only one direction, why is there an arrow to select?
Have you experienced this experience?

I would expect this to be related to the bend radius vs. material thickness, but also can be material collisions where relief would be.
Synchronous seems to convert it with no trouble, but Ordered requires a bit more tweaking.
Attached, is another way [using Ordered mode] I would convert an imported part file, then modify this for production.

Can you capture options for cover to sheetmetal?
my example was done by myself, but I also can switch Your model to both sides.
And the next question might be, why You don't use this functionallity for the complete sheet metal part?
You also can select those greater bend radii already existing to get the side walls too:
back and retou!
All bends and inwards doesn't work!
This makes problem in the connection area.
So what's about changing the model to the inside values and then creating the PSM outwards?
and another way to get it:
"Just see the imported model You have used, which is a PSM only.
So I think those thickness, together with the sharp edges will disallow the convertion into PSM
So use the convert for the middle part of Your model and create a flange followed with a tab on the side
