Hello,

I got a short question, how do i draw a edge (in metal sheet) around a flenge?

See the examples in the attachment.

I tried multiple options but i cant figure out how to draw this in metalsheet (ordered)

Thanks!

Ruben

Hi @Ruben1

for me those pictures do not look like a "sheet metal" part in the sense of SE.

These parts more seems to be pressed parts rather than bended.

Wolfgang

Hello,

Sorry that is what i ment. I work at a company where we work with bending machines.

But we want to buy a part from a press. Unfortunately we dont knoww how to design it.

Hi @Ruben1

in that case I would do it as a part, modelling the shape as wanted and do a final thin wall to get it as "sheet part" finally.

PS.: You also can create the "platine" (flat pattern= of that geometry

Hi @Ruben1

no, it is possible!

Yes, in Traditional only, but this is not that problem.

And Yes You als can create the flat pattern of it.

But IMHO I think it is easier doing it in part only.

But as so often, this only is a personal opinion
