hi, I'm a drawing teacher and I installed solid edge st9 student edition in my laptop (windows 8.1 64bits)
It works until you make first operation, I can make a sketch but if I try to extrude it or something like that, it shows a error mesage and closes the program.
I tried everything I know and I can't mend it.
are there an update or something to solve it?

I'm using ST9 on windows 8.1 (64bit) here. Just to confirm they work together. Sorry, I can't think of what might be wrong.
Hi there @damareste,
Do you have any "Maintenance Pack[s]" installed?.......these are not distributed to student edition users, but I believe are available to school faculty, for use in that context.
There is likely an update in Windows that creates a direct conflict on your system, so installing the latest MP would be a first port of call to correct it if you had to stay on ST9.....else, I would absolutely recommend upgrading to ST10, to have the newest supported platform, and of course, latest tools available in Sold Edge.
Any futher thoughts on this @uk_dave?

If you are an educator with access to the Solid Edge Academic version you should have access to maintenance packs. I would start with making sure you have installed ST9 MP12.
I have also seen this type of issue occur with lower end unsupported graphics cards. Try these steps:
These steps will configure your Solid Edge to use the low end graphics which may then avoid this crash.
my school doesn´t use SE, I use it to make plans for milling and lathe students.
I rather use this program and I try to talk into the head teacher to use it instead of what we have, and show him how it works
