unwanted extra part created in Assembly Pattern

I am trying to use pattern to add press-in nuts and screws in a hole pattern. When I finish this there is always an additional object floating at the end of my model. I am unable to delete this. Thoughts? Pictures attached.

Hi @ajrs269

without having the parts here for access is will be hard to give You the right answer or solution, but I can assume that the pattern in the master part itself will have 5 instead of 4 instances, could this be?

Wolfgang

I was using someone elses part and it turns out there was a 5th hole that did not appear in the model.

But, if this was a more complex hole pattern and I wanted to skip instances, would there be anyway to acheieve that?

Yes, it's in the pattern dialog.

Hi @ajrs269

if You supress pattern instances in the part pattern, they of course will be supressed in the asm too

I'm on ST8. It appears my dialog only has:
Select Items Step
Select Part
Select Pattern
Select Reference Position

Hi @ajrs269

no, I'm not talking about the ASM pattern function but about the pattern within the part.

Here You for many many versions were able to suppress instances of a pattern.

If they are suppressed here, they also will not be used for the assembly patterning

There is no modification for ASM pattern in more current versions of SE

There is - of course - and this IMHO is one of the best enhancements of ST10 - the Clone Feature in ASM.

Simply click one reference hole and in any identical hole a clone of the parts will be positioned. Great!
