Question

How do you apply a Left Hand thread to a model?

Answer

This can be done either thru the PipeThread.txt, Hole.txt, or both. Edit the Thread Type column to do this by appending an LH, or RH to the data of that column. Then save the .txt file and apply thread. This is not going to change anything graphically on the model. It will appear when annotating the feature in Draft.

For ST6 is there a way to create a left hand thread in the part that is reflected down to the draft?

YES,  as teh thread you posted in says...

the file you need to edit is:  C:\Program Files\Solid Edge ST6\Preferences\HOLES.TXT

correct,  these are all rh threads...  to create a LH thread.

Simply Copy and paste teh thread type that you need to be LH and modify it like this...

0.25; 0.1959; 0.1887;  1/4-20 UNC; UNC
0.25; 0.1959; 0.1887;  1/4-20 UNC HELICOIL;HELICOIL
0.25; 0.1959; 0.1887;  1/4-20 LH; LEFT HAND THREAD
