Assembly doesn't work?

N/A
I add parts to the assembly through the "Component Structure Editor", and they seem to be added to the assembly (they are in the list of parts on the left), but I can't make them appear at all even by checking/unchecking the 'hide' tick. I tried everything I can think of, but the parts simply don't show up in the assembly. Help?

you add parts from the parts library.

A quick review of the assembly environment tutorial should give you everything you need.

FYI,

Component Structure Editor is a completely different beast! Used to conceptualize and plan BOMS.
often referred to as a Zero-D modeling approach.

There was a recent blog done on the feature here: http://community.plm.automation.siemens.com/t5/Solid-Edge-Community-Blog/Virtual-Components-Part-1/b...

Thank you both! I was using the Structure Editor because that is how the uni explained to do things (we are making a South pointing compass on Solid Edge). I managed to figure out that the thing wasn't working because I hadn't selected "Add as real component" while adding the components to my assembly.
