Help for Keypoint curves

N/A
There seems to be very little info on creating and modifying keypoint curves in 3D. Snapping to existing elements when modifying seems hit and miss; redefine point sometimes deletes points added previously; adding points between intermediate vertices extends the end of the curve. Redefine point produces the prompt:
"click on a keypoint k=explicit point locate; then (m)id" but typing seems to have no effect.

Keith,
I use Keypoint Curves extensively (even as we speak) and I
think it's safe to say I have now spent well over a thousand
hours creating & tweaking them during the last ~10 years.
They are one of the most powerful tools in Solid Edge and
one of the most frustrating. 'Hit & Miss' is indeed an approp-
riate description - in ST4 I am finding that the 'pick' point to
add a point to some curves requires the cursor to be OFF the
curve to get it to highlight, and I have experienced all the
frustrations that you mention and more. Mostly now I tend to
use coordinate values to 'tweak' the shape little by little.
Not being able to define the depth plane when initially free-
hand sketching a Keypoint Curve is a huge time-wa$ter too,
especially since there is no way to Move (or COPY!) a Key-
point Curve as a single entity.
For now it's what it is. Powerful, frustrating and overly time-
con$uming.
Rick.

Re: Help for Keypoint curves

Thanks Rick
I'm beginning to see that although SE is very powerfull, theres a lot of facets which are not intuitive. For example: the orientxpres tool (shown in solidmasterminds video Solid Edge Surfacing Training KeyPoint Curve Tutorial - thanks to them for graciously answering my question) is only available when using xyz keypoint setting (and even then its 'temperamental').
If I could afford it I would subscribe to Solidmastermind - SE is not for self study! However I am beginning to see that lateral thinking (using other features of SE to get a result) is a way round the paradigm shift. For example importing 3Ds spline as broken sections so that I can snap to the endpoints when recreating them...
