I have parts that I would like to install in a different assemply. I tried the part under Parts Library not knowing what would happen, I found out that didn't work.

I tried >Modify< Transfer, I couldn't find the part to transfer.

Is there a way to assist.

Thank You

Greg

Each part must reside in it's own PAR file which is then added to an assembly using the Parts Library pane in Edgebar in a ASM file.

Greg, the Help server is back up now.

A PAR is a Solid Edge Part file, so lets say I create a part model, I save it to disk as "1234.PAR" and close the file.

I then create a Solid Edge Assembly file (ASM file extension) and save it as XYZ.ASM and then I open the Parts Library tab on the EdgeBar (on the side of the Solid Edge graphics screen) and I navigate to the location I saved 1234.PAR and then I drag it in from the Parts Library pane into the assembly graphics window.

I have now placed 1234.PAR as a component of assembly XYZ.ASM

Ken,

I've opened up a new file the under local disk (C). I set to the assembly isolated the part to transfer under the new file folder. Came across Under numerous documents.

I,ve tried numerous times same results .

Is there any videos available to see?

Thank You

Greg

Greg, here is a quick video showing...

  1. Creating a new part (Block_1.par)
  2. Saving it to the C:\Temp folde and closing it.
  3. Creating a new assembly (ASM_1.asm)
  4. Opening the Parts Library tab on EdgeBar
  5. Finding Block_1.par in C:\Temp
  6. Dragging it into the assembly (ASM_1.asm)
  7. Saving the assembly to c:\Temp and closing it.

have you try to check the view to show bar?

this could be the part view is not selected as the particular to be shown.

However if you want to input the same part which is exsist in assembly. you can just select it from the tree and drag drop it.

Thanks
