Attributes which can be delivered by BOMwriter

Hello All,

I use BOMwriter to get structure meta data out of TCEng to a psup file.

I can get attributes from the item revisions in the structure.

But I would like to be able to get attributes from the Items.

So at present I do something like this:

-format=psup+props=bl_item_item_id,bl_rev_item_revision

And I get what you would expect:

0, Assy1, 1

  1, Assy2, 17

     2, Assy3, 5

etc.

But I would like to get the owner and group of the Item (not the item revision).

so I tried

-format=psup+props=bl_item_item_id,bl_item_owning_user,bl_item_owning_group

But then I get the same output as above, with "[Not Displayable]" where I would expect those two item level attributes to be.

If I try "bl_item_rubbish" in the props line then I get "[Error: bl_item_rubbish]" so there is a diffence in the output when I ask for "bl_item_owning_group" and when asking for something which doesn't exist.

So the questions I have are these:

- is it possible to get item level attributes into the BOMwriter output when using a psup file?

- if so how?

- have I missunderstood something here, and what I'm trying to do is not logical?

I look forward to your help.

Cheers

Geoff.

Hello Geoff,

Did you try adding these two properties as BOMLine attributes? You could do it using Global Constants editor from BMIDE (Fnd0BOMLineRevConfigProps)

Hello ArunG,

Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm not familiar with the BMIDE.

Does it need admin rights?

Re: Attributes which can be delivered by BOMwriter

More information:

If I use PLMXML as the format, then I can get the attributes that I want with this line:

-format=plmxml

+ua=targetSmiley Surprisedccurrence,

key:ItemType,prop:bl_item_object_type,

key:ItemGroup,prop:bl_item_owning_group,

key:ItemLastModifier,prop:bl_item_last_mod_user

(I've added line breaks to make it more readable, it was all one line)

From this I have learnt that:

- the attribute name is correct

- BOMwriter has access to the attributes that I want.

Which leaves the possibility that I am missing some bit of understanding about what is happening! (in other words I don't know what I'm doing!!!)

Can anyone help me out with an explanation please?

Cheers

Geoff.
