Automatically obsolete

Hello all,

I am wondering if you are able to automatically obsolete an item when a later rev is released through workflow? Can't find anything in the workflow designer guide. We are running TC 9.3.3

Thanks,

Paul

Re: Automatically obsolete

AFAIK, there is no out-of-the-box functionality. We had to develop a customization as in our case, The previous item may or may not obsolete. We have different statuses, Service,Obsolete. Etc.

BTW, we are using TC 10.1.3 and we are using the customisation.

Hope this helps !

Cheers.

Re: Automatically obsolete

You can use this handler: TCX-release-previous-itemrevs

Description:
Sets a status on the current revision's preceding item revisions, dependent on their current status. Subsequently, the specified item revisions can optionally be sent into a workflow.

Re: Automatically obsolete

Thanks for that - the TCX-release-previous-itemrevs seems to work fine.

Obviously will need to test it a little more but signs are promising.

Many thanks,

Paul

Re: Automatically obsolete

You are welcome Paul.

To make things more easier for you, create a new workflow template called "Quick Obsolete...".

Use the handler with argument -proc_name="Quick Obsolete".

Assign this new WF template for admin for addressing day to day support issues.
