Bulk creating items in Teamcenter

Hi guys,

My customer has listed data coming from ERP like below

The item created needs to be "16_2510893.prt" and I want all to be created in that list.

the other columns are attributes that the user needs to fill in and if this also could be done automatically, that'd be great.

What do you think is the best way?

The best would be to create a custom NX customization, since you can set part attributes before you save the parts.

Another way would be to create a clone import, which is best suited for existing data that has all attributes set already.

Creating parts in NX is the best way, so a utility run as a managed session is the best.

Re: Bulk creating items in Teamcenter

Look at the utility ps_upload.  It will let you submit files and create items and/or imprecies structure in Teamcenter.

Where can I find that utility?

Change your delimiter to something that batch scripting won't get confused by. The tilde (~) is a good choice but still may be used in a description someplace and parse where you don't expect it. Some utils except double chars as a delimiter and the usage of ~~ is not normal in a description. Check if you can double the delimiter for better results.
