Cannot install NX Integration in Teamcenter

Hello,

I have some problems installing NX Integration in Teamcenter 11:

I'm trying to install these features using tem.bat:

NX Foundation, NX Rich Client Integration, Teamcenter Integration For NX Management,

but I got some errors:

 

Log told me that:

"Validating Teamcenter Environment for script execution
Updating TC_DATA_MODEL with templates from datasets
Downloading File: model_lang.xml
       41178: FSC proxy error: "6 CURLE_COULDNT_RESOLVE_HOST: The host domain name to which you are trying to connect could not be resolved.".
Error updating the TC_DATA_MODEL with templates from datasets
Script execution failed."

 

And installation show me that alert:

"An error has occurred during the operation.  Review the problem description and suggested actions.  If a failure requires some input, the fields will be displayed below.
ShellCommandFailed
Description
The following command returned a value of 1
"install_runner.bat" -u=infodba -p=***** -g=dba -templates=nx0tcin,nx1tcincm"

 

The only teamcenter service running is FSC SERVICE.

 

Do I have to check others log file? Could someone help me?

This sounds familiar IF (capitalized) you had Teamcenter installed previous to Tc11.2. If not then contact GTAC instead of trying these steps as it can result in the Database and TC_DATA being out-of-sync (only resolution would be a complete restore)…

1. Run the following in a Tc cmd prompt:
bmide_manage_templates -option=add -templates=nx0tcin

2. Run the following in a Tc cmd prompt:
business_model_extractor -u=infodba -p=infodba -g=dba -mode=all -outfile=C:\extract.xml

3. Rename the extract.xml file to model.xml and lang\extract_lang.xml file to lang\model_lang.xml

4. Replace your TC_DATA\model\model.xml and \lang\model_lang.xml files with the ones just created.

5. Run the following in a Tc cmd prompt:
manage_model_files -u=infodba -p=infodba -g=dba -option=upload

SFB-NX-0687 explains the change in template naming but does not give the resolution.

Thank you Randy for your answer,

I have TC 11.2 installed, and I never had problem installing NX Integration using the same VM, so I really don't understand why there is that kind of error now.

I think that everythings start from here:

 

"Validating Teamcenter Environment for install...
Validating the Install script path for each template...
The following templates are going to be installed
 nx0tcin
 nx1tcincm
Install script for nx0tcin is D:\plm\tcroot\install\nx0tcin\install_nx0tcin.default
Install script for nx1tcincm is D:\plm\tcroot\install\nx1tcincm\install_nx1tcincm.default
Alert!
The last pass of the Install failed."

 

Really strange, I'm trying to find diferrences between this installation and others but at the moment no idea.

 

After that, I would like to know how to restart an "installation features" because when a relaunch tem.bat installation dialog tell me that:

 

"This configuration is currently in a failed state.  On the next panel, you will be able to change some values which were being used at the time of the failure then TEM will attempt to resume the installation or upgrade."

 

And then I can only try to recover

"Recovery
An attempt will be made to reinstall the failed feature."

 

and Fail!

As stated in my previous post, since this is not a pre-Tc11.2 environment, then you should call GTAC.

question: are you running TC in a VMware where the guest-OS is not part of a windows active directory domain (so they are a workgroup server)?
I've seen installations that enter IP-addresses into fmsmaster*.xml to the FSC address instead of its hostname...
that's what I am thinking when I read CURLE_COULDNT_RESOLVE_HOST...

yes I do, it's a workgroup server, so you think it's that the problem? And you know how to solve?

Anyway, this problem:

It isn't possibile to update templates manually?

as @MarkusK said, I also think this is due to FSC not running correctly and hence not able to download the file it requires, can u attach FSC log here?

please upload a copy of your fmsmaster*.xml file from TC_ROOT\fsc directory - once I can see it I can verify or not if this is the problem...
but in the past with any Tc11 and Tc12 installation on a "workgroup" server I had the issue that it enters the IP-address instead of the hostname into fmsmaster*.xml (never seen this at customers where the servers joined a domain)

in fmsmaster address is "http://myHostname.localdomain:4544"
