Change Rich Client and Active Workspace URL

Hi,

I have two questions regarding URL:s

Question 1:

I want to change the URL when performing a copy/paste operation between Rich Client and MS Office.

We want to adjust the server name to an new alias to avoid future problems when the server name changes.

Now the URL look like this:

http://tok88-ml653:8001/tc/launchapp...

We want it to look like this:
http://teamcprod:8001/tc/launchapp...

I noticed a thread where something similar (I think) is achieved by changing ActiveWorkspaceHosting.URL. Is this the case for my problem too (I have not been able to check it yet, that's why I am asking the question first).

Link to thread

But I also noticed a call on GTAC where (again, something I believe is similar to my problem) was solved by changing AWS_FullTextSearch_Solr_URL.

Link to thread

What do I need to do in order to achieve it?

Question 2:

Is it possible to get a URL that can be pasted into MS Office that links to Active Workspace instead of the Rich Client?

Best Regards
_Busck

Hi

To answer on point 1.

To change Rich Client url when pasting into e.g Word is done in the file site_specific.properties which located in <portal root>\plugins\configuration_[TC version]

Change the portalWebServer value.

After that regenerate the client cache by running <portal root>\registry\genregxml.bat

I can give a more detailed scenario regarding the second question:

I am logged in as a user in Rich Client. I want to paste a URL in MS Office that points to Active Workspace. In the Structure Manage you can export to Excel which gives a link to Rich Client, I need the Excel to preferably show both one URL to Rich Client and one to Active Workspace.

Is this possible? Or is there some other way to get a URL to Active Workspace while logged in as a user in Rich Client?

I just want to bump this thread.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

I don't know of a specific preference for MSO but you can try ActiveWorkspaceHosting.URL and ActiveWorkspaceHosting.WorkflowEmail.URL. These are mainly designed for workflow and subscription notifications but might add the link to MSO as well.

Note: Format is ActiveWorkspaceHosting.<application>.URL where <application> is something like NX, Pro2 (Creo), etc.

For instance, ActiveWorkspaceHosting.Office.URL
