Can you check whether your custom icon loaded in your bmide workpsace?

Check if you have any duplicates icons with same names.

Example -

bmide\workspace\11000.2.0\"CustomTemplate"\icons\R4_ER.png

Can you take out the below line from your customer.properties file and give a try.

release_statuses.Early\ Release.ICON=images/R4_ER.png

In my case I did not add release statuses in customer.properties file and custom status icon under IR is working for me. Added only property render in BMIDE.

Please clear RAC cache and run genregxml.bat before you open a new session.

@Rafa2 , thank you for help

but the "trick" was in the other thing (in my case)

At first I`ve found quite helpful pdf (see attach) with a good instruction.

Then I`ve add to Fnd0Icon default icon as a custom22-06-2019 20-11-04.png

wich let me use Rendering Definition propely and here is my working vafiant:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<icons Version="1.0">
    <propertyMap name="ReleaseStatusMap">
        <item key="R4_EarlyRelease" value="R4_EarlyRelease.png" />
    </propertyMap>
    <primaryIcon source="R4_ReleaseStatus.png">
        <overlayIcon source="object_name" mapName="ReleaseStatusMap" />
    </primaryIcon>
</icons>

and at last but not least the icon file itself was for some reasons not OK, I`ve redesign it (if 2 letters picture can be designed at all) and changed name becouse for some reason it is not aloud to have short names (in my case it was R4_ER.png).

I hope it will help for somebody else becouse I was really confused with this "well known customization approach"

(especially the length on the icon file`s names)

p.s. do not forget about transparency in your custom icons;)
