Dataceter Migration - TC Application server and Oracle DB Server

Experimenter
Experimenter

Hello,

During relocation of the Data center at one of our sites the servers would be changed to a new IP Address range.

The TC Application server and the Oracle DB Server shall have a new IP Adresses. The Licence Server is at another site and shall not be changed.

Does this impact the Teamcenter Application?

The server names will remain the same (TC App server and also the Oracle DB).

I believe The Composite ID is tied to the Licence Server which is unchanged in our case, so there is no impact.

Please share your views and correct me if I do not understand this correctly.

Thanks and Regards,

Seema

Good afternoon,
it all depends on what was set when installing Oracle and Teamcenter. If you specified computer names, not IP addresses, then this should not affect, in which case you will need to make sure that DNS has been correctly updated. For example, you can try to ping your Oracle and Teamcenter servers and they should show you the new ip addresses

Hello Arthur,

Thanks for the quick Feedback!

Yes Computer names are in use and not IP Addresses.

Will make sure to check the DNS Names after the IP address change.

Then I think you should not have problems with migration. We moved the Teamcenter virtual machines with the change of ip addresses and everything worked fine.
