Re: Delete stale user sessions

The easiest way is to wait for the next downtime and run "clearlocks -assert_all_dead". Not to be done while users are still in the system.

Otherwise, you'll have to find the process id from the syslog (typically, "ayt
local says dead, locks are held by process AARRcRLF2fTX6D") then run the following SQL commands:

DELETE from pom_m_lock where process = 'AARRcRLF2fTX6D';
DELETE from pom_r_lock where process = 'AARRcRLF2fTX6D';
COMMIT;

Clears all locks attained by that process.

Re: Delete stale user sessions

Hi Randy,

When I login  as DBA and try to view 'Current Login Users', I get an option to Purge. Is this same as Deleting DB locks?

Yes! Purging is the same.
