Dispatcher not processing any requests

Dear all,

I have a successfully running dispatcher on TC9 and now I installed the same on TC11.2.1.

Scheduler, Module and DC are running successfully. DC and module are connected to Scheduler.

But I see following problems:

1. Though DC says it started successfully, there is no message about connecting to TcServer

2. All 3 components are running on CMD and show no response on creating a Translation request

3. AdminClient shows all Translation requests are stuck at INITIAL stage.

3. No task folders are created under StagingDirectory i.e. it's always empty.

4. 2099 port specified for DispClient is unused.

5. No error message is displayed

I compared and verified all settings with TC9 dispatcher and I don't see any difference.

Any idea what's wrong or how to troubleshoot this problem ?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Dispatcher not processing any requests

One of the challenges with Dispatcher is that you have to uninstall, usually before the upgrade, then reinstall after the upgrade. I've read an SFB (can't seem to find it now) about it and follow that procedure when upgrading. Try uninstall/reinstall.

Re: Dispatcher not processing any requests

If all requests remain at INITIAL then the Dispatcher Client is not working.  Start there because the Scheduler and Modules are not getting the data they need from the Dispatcher Client.

Thanks Randy for the hint. I found the SFB and will try to follow the same.

Thanks Larry for the response. Yes that's where I'm going to start...

Re: Dispatcher not processing any requests

It looks like "dcproxy" doesn't have access rights to the objects.

DispatcherRequest ACL

Has Class(POM_application_object) ? Working

Has Class

DispatcherRequest

ACL Name

DispatcherRequest

ACE Type of Accessor

User

ACE ID of Accessor

dcproxy

ACE Privilege

Re: Dispatcher not processing any requests

Thanks Randy, this worked for me.

In Tc9, it worked without creating an ACL and I also checked and found that such an ACL does not exist.

I'm wondering what has changed in TC11. Any idea ?

Re: Dispatcher not processing any requests

I've been adding the ACL since 2007 so I'm not sure why it worked in Tc9.1 without it. Maybe you used a different account in Tc9.1 to run translations instead of dcproxy?

Thank you, you were my 100th accepted solution and I earned the "Enlightened" badge.

Congratulations and thank you for 'enlightening' us Smiley Happy

Yes, I used a different account in TC9.1. But I also used the same account in TC11.2 as well.
