FSC_Init Error On Solaris With HTTPS

Experimenter
Experimenter

Hello Everyone,

We have recently upgraded Teamcenter communications by utilizing the HTTPS protocol and now we have secured the FMS interaction and the Web server interaction to use Https. We followed the documentation and Teamcenter FMS functionality now works as expected without any problem. The only thing that is missing is that we have 2 Tier utilities configured on the Solaris boxes where we are running our FMS masters - these are mainly the multisite synchornization scripts, deletion of remote objects etc. These are now affected with HTTPS and the log only mentions of an FSC_Init error and no other error message is decipherable - there is no additional information on the FMS Master system log or the utility log except for the information which is found in the screenshot attached.

We are able to replicate this quite easily with just an Item_Export function on the Solaris machine where FMS is configured. Interestingly, the same command when run from a windows box is going through without any problems.

Any pointers on this would be helpful for us in triaging this problem.

Thanks for your time.

It looks like you haven't set FMS_HOME? Set FMS_HOME to the tccs directory and try again please.

Hello Randy, thanks for your response. Yes, the FMS_HOME variable was not set till now. And all the scripts used to work without any problem. But with the latest HTTPS change, the problem arises.

Also, we tried putting in the FMS_HOME to point to tccs folder earlier and we see that the fcc starts, but item_export now crashes.

Getting FCC to start was the first step to a solution. Next, FCC will likely need the https certificate imported into the (cacerts) keystore/truststore (see links below). Reviewing the syslog or TcRAC log written for the user running item_export may highlight more issues now that the FCC is running.
