How do we let user know that there is a new revision available in an precise assembly

Hi,

We have a requirement where user should be informed in bomwindow that there is a new published revision available when he loads precise assembly in structure manager.

We have a solution where,

we are setting a run time attribute on bomline to indicate there is a new published revision available for revision in the structure.

This is a performance issue for us as our product structure will have 100s of small (10 bomlines approximately)precise assemblies and when user opens product structure it is taking lots of time to load.

Is there any OOTB approach for this solution?

Are you able to add the a column for the latest revision? Place it next to the rev_id column and when the two don't match then the user must validate.

Hi Randy,

Thanks for the reply, but we need to inform user that there is a latest Published (Plublished is a release status ) revision available. I could not find any OOTB property on BomLine to indicate that latest revision has a status .

Did you try to open the same structure twice? One window in precise mode and another one by using your custom revision rule? After that you must be able to use OOTB structure compare for displaying differences (Tools-->Compare...)
