Import an excel data when items are in "Released" status

I have installed an excel integration to import data into tc8 using data and control files. But if items are in released status, it is saying that "The released version of object could not be modified".Import can be possible only if items are in "Unreleased status". Is there any way to achieve this, instead of "unreleasing" items?.

Have you tried running it as DBA on Bypass? I'm not familiar with the process you're following but there is usually an option to force or overwrite existing datasets. Forcing an overwrite is dangerous since the data may be different and approvers have already reviewed and released the existing data. If I were you, I would force a revision of the Items that have conflicts and release them, even a quick release, instead of unreleasing or overwriting existing data.

I can edit in bypass mode. But how do we set bypass in excel import?

Re: Import an excel data when items are in "Released" status

We can update data by using tcexcel_import command. Before that we need to prepare text file as below.

item##type##revname
38000##data##0
24000##data##1

Open the TC command prompt and enable bypass (SET AM_BYPASS=true)

tcexcel_import -u= -p= -g= -i=datafile.txt  -d=1 -psfile

Done!.
