Making an attribute available in Revise dialog.

Experimenter
Experimenter

We added a new property to an Item Revision and made the attribute mandatory to create.

I also wanted to make this attribute mandatory to revise and do not want to carry over value from previous revision.

The issue is that I cannot see the property in the Revise Dialog form. I want the system to prompt for the input of attribute while revising as during creation.

How to make this possible?

Following Property Constants were set for the new property in BMIDE.

  • CopyFromOriginal = False (Because we don't want to carry forward the value from previous revision)
  • Visible = True (To make it visible during creation)
  • Required = True (To make it mandatory to create)

Apart from the above Property Constant settings, we set following values in Operation Descriptor

  • Operation Descriptor - CreateInput
    • Required = True
    • Visible = True
  • Operation Descriptor - SaveAs
    • Required = True
    • Visible = True
    • CopyFromOriginal = False

 We are using Teamcenter 10.1.0.

You need to look at setting these on the Revise Operation Descriptor.

I could only see CreateInput and SaveAsInput descriptors in BMIDE.

I'm using BMIDE v10.1.0

What am I doing wrong :( ?

You aren't doing anything wrong. I forgot this wasn't added until 10.1.4 or so. I don't have a template that old to help but look at the BMIDE documentation for Deep Copy Rules and revision. Also look at your revise stylesheet.

Thanks Jamie.

Our Teamcenter version is 10.1.6

Will BMIDE v10.1.4 compatible to Tc 10.1.6?

Can I use BMIDE v10.1.4

I just did a search, it came in 10.1.5. Has your BMIDE template been updated to your current 10.1.6? I’d say you need to update BMIDE to the same version of TC you are using.

Hi Karthikeyan,

Did you got the solution for bringing the attribute in revise dialog ?

If yes how did you got that ?

I am also facing same issue.

I am using TC11.3

Yes. This is resolved for me.

As you are using TC 11.4, you can find Operation Descriptor for Revise in the Operation Descriptor tab.

You can define your rule there.

Hi Karthikeyan,

Thank you for immediate reply,

But the custom attributes are not coming in the revise dialog even after making visible=true in Operation Descriptor-->ReviseInput-->Property Constants.

Did you add them to the revise stylesheet for the item type as well?
