have you got IPS? you could create new revisions with IPS. Would be a bit of a pain if you have datasets that need copying forward though!
Yes I have IPS. It will not solve my purpose.
Like you said the dataset will not be propagated to next revision. I have datasets which needs to be propagated to revised revision.
I just checked the IPS documentation for revising:
"In Teamcenter Engineering V9+ a Deep Copy will also be performed on any new Items or Revisions to perform any Deep Copy Rules that may be set."
So, according to the documentation it will work.
I just tested using items mode using the following options and it created a new revision and copied forward the correct datasets:
CREATE ITEMS = OFF
UPDATE ITEMS = ON
CREATE REVS = ON
UPDATE REVS = ON
UPDATE LATEST REV = ON
UPDATE REV ATTACHMENTS = ON
DATE FORMAT = %d/%m/%Y %H:%M:%S
SET BYPASS = ON
Note: Leave NewRevID blank
Yes, either with PLMXML or TCXML at some point in time I have. Problem is TCXML or PLMXML create revisions, they don't revise. So yes, they will create the revisions, but they won't have any of the datasets of the previous revision.
