Hello

Is it possible to create within swim a attribute mapping to classification ics?

If yes, how the syntax should look like?

Thanks for any advice!

Hello,

mapping today is limited to the item, item revision, dataset, and any attached forms.  This woudl not include classification ICs.  We would need an enhancement request for tracking this requirement.

Thank,

Paul

I did not use SWIM. I do not think this is possible directly. But I think it is possible if you first map the attribute to an object (for example, a revision), and from the ico object you can make a reference to the attribute of the object

Expanding @ArthurRM suggestion, we mapped an NX attribute to a Classification value using:
{ Dataset type="UGMASTER"
"DB_PART_NAME" : Item.object_name /write_once /description="Part Name"
"DB_PART_DESC" : Item.object_desc /write_once /description="Part Description"

{ Item type="C4_Design"
"NX_Weight" : ItemRevision.c4_Weight /master=cad /allow_null_value /description="c4_Weight"
"NX_Mass" : ItemRevision.ICS(1062) /allow_null_value /description="1062"
}
}

The /allow_null_value switch was critical in case the ItemRevision hadn't been classified yet.

Hello Randy

Thank you for your reply. I did this before with NX aswell.

According Paul this is not yet supported within SWIM.

I opened an ER.
