Hello All,

Can we use swimimport utility to import solidworks assembly with all its child parts saved separately?

and how to use it?

Currently i can import individual parts using this utility.

Please follow below steps to import assembly file with child parts.
Syntax:

swimimport -login -u <username> -p <password> -g <group> -log <logfile> -overwrite <C:\input.txt>
input.txt is instruction file.

In input.txt file you need to define the exact path of the soildworks files saves on local drive.

"C:\Test_asm\My_asm.SLDASM" item_id=000037 item_revision_id=A item_name="My_asm" item_type=Item
"C:\Test_asm\Base01.SLDPRT" item_id=000034 item_revision_id=A item_name="Base01" item_type=Item
"C:\Test_asm\Bolt0002.SLDPRT" item_id=000035 item_revision_id=A item_name="Bolt0002" item_type=Item

Hi,

I am Trying to run some tests importing SW parts to TC 11.2.3 by running swimimport.bat, after running the utility inmmediatly send the output BulkLoad operation has finished, and no log file is being generated despite the fact that I am indicating it

this is the what I am writing in cmd line

D:\Teamcenter11\swim>swimimport.bat -ramonm -ramonm -dba -log="D:\14.DM_Tools\sldprt_import.log" -overwrite "D:\14.DM_tools\swim_instruction.txt"

This is what I am getting
BulkLoad operation has finished

These are my two sldprts  on my instruction file that I am trying o import using the utility:

"D:\14.DM_tools\5112-ANT-LT\13360073.034093_rA1.sldprt" item_id=034093 item_revision_id=A item_name="Test_SW" item_type=Item model_type=sldprt
"D:\14.DM_tools\5112-ANT-LT\13360026.034094_rA1.SLDPRT" item_id=034094 item_revision_id=A item_name="Test_SW2" item_type=Item model_type=sldprt

Do you have any clue? why is not importing the sw parts into Teamcenter

Thanks in Advance

Use the teamcenter searche function:

Search item_id : 034093

or

Search the name : 13360073.034093_rA1.sldprt

I am trying to import a drawing and its dependents. Below is my command & input file.

swimimport.bat -u=movedata -p=movedata -g="dba" -overwrite -log="D:\SolidworksImport\ImportDRW.log" "D:\SolidworksImport\SwimInputDRW.txt"
"D:\RH1_Content1\ALL_Solidowrks\y01e7100.sldprt" item_id="3000060001" item_revision_id="A" item_type="Item"
"D:\RH1_Content1\ALL_Solidowrks\y10e8100.sldprt" item_id="3000060002" item_revision_id="A" item_type="Item"
"D:\RH1_Content1\ALL_Solidowrks\y01e8051.sldprt" item_id="3000060003" item_revision_id="A" item_type="Item"
"D:\RH1_Content1\ALL_Solidowrks\y01e7002.sldasm" item_id="3000060004" item_revision_id="A" item_type="Item"
"D:\RH1_Content1\ALL_Solidowrks\y01e8002.sldasm" item_id="3000060005" item_revision_id="A" item_type="Item"
"D:\RH1_Content1\ALL_Solidowrks\h01a1800.sldprt" item_id="3000060006" item_revision_id="A" item_type="Item"
"D:\RH1_Content1\ALL_Solidowrks\y01e0400.slddrw" item_id="3000060007" item_revision_id="A" item_type="Item"
"D:\RH1_Content1\ALL_Solidowrks\y01e7051.sldprt" item_id="3000060008" item_revision_id="A" item_type="Item"

When i finish the import i see two datasets under same itemRevision.

Items1.PNG

Items2.PNG

I am wondering why two datasets are getting created ? Any suggestions would help. Really bugging me out here.

Santosh

I searched it, and it wasn't imported into TC.

Thanks!

Have you tried -dry_run  combined with -output? Using this you will be able to review an instruction file prior executing the import.

Yes. I used the same output file generated using dry_run as input. I changed only the item_id and removed other irrelevant details.
