Teamcenter 10.1.7 - thin client web

Creator

Hello,

I'm installed a thin client web in my server by using insweb.bat.

In directory deployment of my thin client, a file tc.ear is generated.

My question is : how can I test the connexion to my thin client ?

Thanks by advance for your answers

Building tc.ear (or tc.war) is half of the effort for a J2EE Web Tier. Now you must deploy tc.ear to your web application server (WAS). Teamcenter supports several J2EE WAS like JBoss, WebLogic or WebSphere. Once the WAS is installed and configured then you deploy the tc.ear to it and it becomes available. For instance, by accessing the address http://webserver:8080/tc/webclient where, webserver is the name of the server running your WAS; 8080 is the default port number for JBoss; tc is the name of your web application (tc.ear).

Thanks Randy,

I use Microsoft IIS as WAS.

How can I deploy the tc.ear in IIS ?

Is like OTW for installation of 4 tiers rich client ?

The tc.ear generated by INSWEB is a J2EE solution while IIS is a .NET solution. You want to deploy the corresponding web tier that matches what was installed for the application tier. For instance, if J2EE Pool Manager was installed then you would create tc.ear and deploy it to a J2EE WAS. But if you installed .NET Server Manager then you should also install the .NET Web Tier.

Don't abandon INSWEB completely (yet) since it is still useful for building the OTW 4t Rich Client (Distribution Instance) but you won't need the tc.ear solution for the .NET stack. Install the .NET Web Tier by running TEM on the same server running IIS.

Hi Randy,

I install the NET Web Tier (see the file install net web.jpg) on the same server running IIS

When I launch the thin client by web, an error appears (see the file error.jpg).

I don't see where is my error.

Have you an idea ?

Port 8085 is for the web tier to talk to server manager. Your http address should be "80" or "8080" depending on what selections you made in TEM for the web tier. Try either of these (replace "yourwebserver" with the real name)...
http://yourwebserver/tc/webclient
http://yourwebserver:8080/tc/webclient
