Teamcenter 10.7.1 : problem for connect to a rich client 4 tier

Creator
Creator

Hello,

I install the teamcenter corporate and web application in a virtal machine without problem.

All ports are opened in the virtual machine (see ports.jpg).

The distributed web application is well defined (see web.jpg)

I deploy the rich client 4 tier using OTW without problem on my portable PC.

When I launch the icon of TC 4-tier rich client in my portable, an error appears (see error.jpg)

I don't see where is my error.

Thanks by advance for your help.

Good Afternoon, if you install web tier based on .NET, try to check port of your IIS web-site

Something is blocked (connection refused). Disable the firewall on the server temporarily and try your connection again. I'm not an expert in WebLogic (default port 7001). However I did notice that you have 28000 specified as the pool manager port which is actually the default license port. Disabling the firewall will help you determine if this is a port issue or something else (or both).

Hi Randy,

It's the same error with the firewall disabled.

It's the same error with only rule disabled (for port 7001)

Now you know it isn't the firewall. I would ask you to check WebLogic but I don't know what to tell you to look for (logs). It is the next likely culprit for the "connection refused" error.

Hi Randy,

I find the error but I don't know how to correct it.

In the server, the port 7001 is not open. I don't see it when I launch the command netstat.

In the firewall the port is well define.

I don't see the port 7001 in the configuration file of Teamcenter.

Do you know how to open a port ?

This sounds like a configuration problem with WebLogic. Does the software come with an install or admin guide?

Hi Randy,

I had try to change port 7001 to port 80 in the definition of the definition of  distributed web application (see file web2.jpg)

After an update by OTW, my 4-tier rich client is working properly.

Is there a recommended port for the 4-tier rich client ?

I assumed you used WebLogic because you had selected 7001. Now that I see your entry in OTW then I'm guessing you just used what was in the example.

The web port totally depends on the Web Application Server (.NET, JBoss, WebLogic or WebSphere) used and the port declared for that WAS. What did you deploy tc.war to? Or did you install the .NET Web Tier?

Hi Randy,

I install the .NET Web Tier (see the file joined).

If I well undestand you, the port of the .NET Web Tier (in my case 8085) will be used too for the 4-tier rich client.
