The Tc preferences that define the http string are likely wrong. The 7001 port is the default for WebLogic and I think you installed JBoss which has a default of 8080.

Hi @RoyHutchens ,

Randy is right , it will be caused by the communication failed with the main server. Firstly you can try to set the port as default 8080 then you will check the telnet <servername> port and maybe you check port according to the that link.

https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/28609/how-can-i-tell-what-is-listening-on-a-tcpip-port-in-windows/

Maybe you can check the firewall or antivirus program , which can protect to reach main server by using the port 7001 or 8080.

Best Regards

Gurkan

I greped on my Teamcenter root,  and found one hit for '7001' at -

C:\Teamcenter\Tc11.2.0a_win64\tc\ssrs_adapters\ssasDataProvider\app.config

I backed up app.config to 'app.config.backup',  and changed -

<add key="Port" value="7001"/>

to

<add key="Port" value="8080"/>

I rebooted my machine to make sure any relative variable would be reset.

However,  I have the same error,  and it continues to indicate port 7001.

Is there a specific place where I would change the port ?   Registry ?

Thanks,

Roy

Teamcenter preferences are stored in the Database. Can you run a Tc command window? If so then try this:
Create a text file containing "WEB_default_site_server" and call it "PrefList.txt" (in C:\Temp).
In Tc cmd run:
cd /d C:\Temp
preferences_manager -u=infodba -p=infodba -g=dba -mode=export -scope=SITE -file=PrefList.txt -out_file=C:\Temp\PrefsFix.xml

Note: No spaces in file names nor path.

Then modify PrefsFix.xml (or attach it here) then run:
preferences_manager -u=infodba -p=infodba -g=dba -mode=import -scope=SITE -file=C:\Temp\PrefsFix.xml -action=OVERRIDE

I presume the 'Tc command window' would be an option under the TC menu ?

or

Would I open an MS command window and run something to set the environment ?

Attached are my TC-11 menu command options.

The wording may be tripping you up. The picture you show is for Start. Whereas, we are talking about TC_ROOT\tc_menu\*.bat for starting a Tc command window.

Or you can build the Tc command window on your own by opening a command window on the server (cmd) and running:
set TC_ROOT=full_path_to_tcroot
set TC_DATA=full_path_to_tcdata
call %TC_DATA%\tc_profilevars.bat

I have two properties files under my TC root -

C:\Teamcenter\Tc11.2.0a_win64\install\expressregistrykeys.properties

C:\Teamcenter\Tc11.2.0a_win64\install\temui.properties

Nope. TC_ROOT\tc_menu is a directory. If you don't see it then you're not looking at the server where Foundation is installed.
