After upgrade from TC8.3 2-tier to TC10 2-tier - logon time increased too much.

Can it be tuned? What logon time depend of?

With 2 tier, which bypasses the web and application tiers to go straight to the database, relies on access to TC_DATA and is very sensitive to latency (distance from the workstation to the database server). A quick "ping" test can tell you a lot. Anything above 2ms and 4 tier will outperform 2 tier. It may be time to change things up?

We planning to extend product environment to 4tier but it will be later, at that moment we are not ready yet  for some reasons

There are some things for login improvement like a file cache warming but I dont like this way

Another tip is to keep the number of objects in your Home folder low. Each have to be read during startup before TC is displayed. Cut and paste objects into sub-folders of Home that way they are not read during startup (only when you access the sub-folder).

Avoid filewarmer. It is too much hassle for little benefit. And you pay the cost during machine startup.
