Unable to open dataset: No compatible tool is found.

Good morning everyone,

i have a problem with a custom dataset and his custom tool.

I had created a custom Dataset to work with a GantProject file into Teamcenter and i created the custom Tool for have a possibility to oper this file with Teamcenter.

I configured the tool in this mode:

MIME/TYPE: application/x-ganttprojent (i used the free tool filetypesman to founf the specific mimetype but without result so i do a search in Google and i found this)

Shell/Symbol: %TC_BIN%/run_gant.bat where into this file i write the *.exe file of application

Input and Output file valued with BINARY

Win Launch Command: "C:\GanttProject\ganttproject.exe" (the last test that i do)

I configured the gant dataset in this mode:

Tool for Edit\View: ABC4_GANT

References :*.gan, *.GAN

Tool Action: ABC4_GANT for Open,OpenUsing,Print, PrintUsing with export references. I try to set parameters but without result.

When i try to open dataset doesn't work: i see into RACfile and i find this error:

I thought to set up the bat file like this:

set GANT_PATH=""C:\GanttProject\ganttproject.exe"

%GANT_PATH% %1

but i don't know which parameters i have set.

Can you help me to solve this problem? I tryed to use diffent BMIDE configuration but without good result.

Thank you very much,

have a nice day everyone.

Francesco

Hi,

Is there a system level file association for these extensions: *.gan, *.GAN?

If there is a need, you may want to configure TC to avoid using default viewer for the above extensions.

Harish

Re: Unable to open dataset: No compatible tool is found.

Hi Harish,

thank you very much for your response.

There is a system level file for this extension (I attach 2 image).

For "using default viewer" you mean to associate the "PV" tool to the dataset? How can I configure it?

I'm banging my head in this problem for days Smiley Sad

Thank you,

Francesco

Re: Unable to open dataset: No compatible tool is found.

@francesco_t3d,

Were you able to resolve this issue?  I am experiencing a similar issue with a custom dataset.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Jake
